Geelong captain Joel Selwood is expected to remain on light duties over the pre-season after returning to the club with a foot injury.
Cats Football Manager Steve Hocking says that the injury occurred while Selwood was running during an overseas break.
"He had a run on the weekend and he'll continue to build up from here and look to get back into things post-Christmas," Hocking said.
"It's just one of those things, you've just got to wait for it to settle down."
The injury has been confirmed as Selwood's plantar fasciitis,, which when Cats officials found out, they restricted Selwood's program over the off-season break.
