Geelong AFL coach Chris Scott has guaranteed George Horlin-Smith a spot in the Cats' team to take on Collingwood on Saturday.

Horlin-Smith has been in dynamic form for the Geelong VFL side throughout the opening two months of the season but until now had been unable to force his way into the powerhouse midfield group at AFL level.

The Cats are hopeful that key defender Tom Lonergan will be passed fit to play against the Magpies, having being concussed in last weekend's win over Adelaide.
