Geelong has decided not to challenge the ban handed down by the Match Review Panel to Tom Hawkins after the big power forward was charged with striking GWS Giants' Phil Davis.
Cats coach Chris Scott says he was left stunned when he had learned the news that Hawkins was sanctioned two games, with one game early plea.
Had the Cats challenged the call and lost, Hawkins would have missed the following two games against the Kangaroos and the Western Bulldogs. Instead, the 27 year old will just miss Saturday night's clash against the top of the table, North Melbourne.
MRP have done a good job this yr since the horrific Sandilands suspension in NAB Challenge, but this Tom Hawkins decision equally as bad— Campbell brown (@Browndogg_30x) June 6, 2016
