Geelong midfielder Josh Caddy will sit out at least six weeks after injuring his knee in the Cats' AFL win over the Western Bulldogs on the weekend.

Scans have revealed Caddy has suffered medial ligament damage and while the injury will not require surgery he has been sidelined for six to eight weeks.

Caddy has been an ever-present for the Cats this year, averaging 21 possessions a game.
